I was wrapping up an order from Out Like Bandits the other day, while watching the end of The Karate Kid on Netflix (Instant view = instant friend.) It occurred to me, as I was tearing up during the dramatic ending, that The Karate Kid is possibly just the best movie of all time. Really. I adore everything about that move, and I fall in love with it all over aging every time I watch it. Then, it also occurred to me that I have yet to mention the whole "Out Like Bandits" thing over here at the blog. So, yeah, I have another shop going on now. It's a collaborative effort by me and my little sister to share some of our thrifting love with the world. It may seem silly to have all of these separate shops, but it's no more trouble to have three than it is to have one, not really. Plus, I think it keeps things more aesthetically organized and easier to navigate. Krissy came up with the snazzy name (which I should stop mentioning so much, because I may have to pay her royalties every time I use it, ) but the banner in the shop is still in-progress. I think the current one, though cute with the old picture of us, has a somewhat incestuous vibe when paired with our little slogan. Just a tad too V.C. Andrews, for me. We hope to update often, I have such and abundance of vintage goodies to share. I also decided to tie up all outgoing parcels in that jaunty black&white gingham ribbon (another fabulous, vintage, thrift item! There are 25 yards left on the roll, so I hope it will last for a little while, anyway!
Boring shop talk, I know. Sorry! Been busy around here lately. Just wanted to mention that if you've been eying anything over at the Emporium lately, I'm planning for a big, first time ever, SALE coming up soon! Keep checking the blogorama for more details. I'm shooting to have the details ready by next Monday. My poor studio shop has been all but abandoned lately, (though a few leftover V-Day creatures have been marked down, if you are interested.) I have applied to the Richmond Craft Mafia's Spring BaDa Bing Craft Show, and I should hear back from them soon! I did this show last year and it was such fun, I hope am accepted, it's just what I need to get back into the handmade-spirit. Fingers-crossed!
