This is not just a tribute to Bill Murray, who is amazing, but more specifically, a tribute to his "It just doesn't matter" speech from the feature film Meatballs, circa 1970-something. (Meatballs is one of those movies I watched so many times I actually wore-out the VHS tape.) This is the best motivational speech of all time. Bar none.
It's reminds me of the old "don't sweat the small stuff" mantra, except more realistic and self deprecating. Love it. Own it. I didn't post on my blog all week: it just doesn't matter. I didn't even do the "Hero" post last Friday: it just doesn't matter. You can't see the floor in Max's room due to the glistening layer of hot wheels: it just doesn't matter. I ate an entire box of Girl scout cookies: it just doesn't matter.
It just doesn't matter.
Anyway, you gotta love Bill Murray. No, really. It's a requirement for my blog, you have to love him. If not, then don't let the cyber door-hit your ass on the way out.

Yay for Bill Murray! We just watched Stripes again the other day, and I think Ghostbusters will have to be next. Harold Ramis is great, too :)
(and I've worn through a Caddyshack tape, heh! Hurray for DVDs!)

Hooray Bill! I love Lost in Translation. Oh, so fantastic. And Scrooged. And practically everything else he's ever done. Sigh.

How crazy ~ I *just* watched that movie a few days ago! (And had only seen it once before) The funny thing is, I'm sure many teams/people would do better if they adopted that motto instead of stressing themselves out.
I must say though, I was shocked to see that scene where he is wrestling with/attacking the love interest. The whole scene makes me quite uncomfortable, she is clearly not playing or having fun.

OMG, I have been thinking about that movie recently! I saw it WAY BACK WHEN IT WAS IN THE THEATERS & I can only remember "run, rudy, run" or something like that. lol. I must find it now.
Yes, I love Bill Murray...one of my all time fave movies is "lost in translation"...he has something more than just being comedic, which he is very good at, but he has a certain charm. So many funny movies he was in...Scrooged, Ghostbusters, Groundhog's day.

Who doesn't love him? He definitely deserves hero status. What a great pick!
